A major retired prior to 2004 with QS more then 15yrs is eligible for pension of lt Cols as now a days only 11 or 13 yrs service is read to become lt col. In table no 1 pension of a major of 22 yrs QS is equal to a major of 33 yrs or more Q S. Why ? Now a days all officers becomes lt Cols with QS of 11 or 13yrs. Now a days no major retired so all majors retd prior to 2004 with QS more then 13yrs may be considered for pension of lt cols.

A Commissioned Officer retiring today with more than 7 years of service will draw pension of LT COL, whereas an officer of more than 15 years of service who retired before 1986 will draw much less pension than an officer retiring today as he will be Lt Col. Is it not a major anomaly which needs to be taken up and addressed by all concerned
